Actress Megan Fox is reuniting with director Michael Bay to star in the updated film version of 90s big screen hit Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Fox famously fell out with Bay during the filming of the Transformers franchise, which resulted in the star not appearing in the third instalment.
On Thursday, Bay wrote on his official website: "TMNT: we are bringing Megan Fox back into the family!
Fox is expected to be playing reporter April O'Neil.
The character was originally played by Judith Hoag in the original 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, before a different actress, Paige Turco, took over for two sequels.
The animated version of the role was voiced by Sarah Michelle Gellar in 2007.
Bay will act as producer on the forthcoming movie, with Jonathan Liebesman set to direct.
Industry paper The Hollywood Reporter suggested that Wrath of the Titans director Liebesman was implicit in persuading Fox - who once labelled Bay a "tyrant" - to take the role.
The film, which will be a mixture of live action performances and computer animation, is currently in the casting process, with turtles Donatello, Michelangelo, Leonardo and Raphael expected to be played by relative unknowns.
It will be released in May 2014.
Fox, who had a baby last year, can currently be seen in Judd Apatow's comedy This is 40.
